Thank you! I still think they're kinda cool so I'm going to keep them. How do you think the nickel got damaged that way? I've seen brown or dull silver color but never black. Thanks
The nickel has tarnish on it that looks like it was exposed to something that the obverse side was not.
So the reverse isn't missing a clad? Excuse me in advance in I get terms wrong or confused! You guys have been so very helpful. Thank you
Nickels are not clad. Just Dimes, Quarters and Halves. It's difficult to tell how that Nickel got like that. Some form of environmental damage but the obverse was not affected.
At the risk if driving you guys crazy I have one more question for the week. Excuse the late hour. I have insomnia! This is a 1972 penny that I can't tell if it's just damaged or is a doubled die. All help is welcome and appreciated. Gotcha. Thank you so much. I'm already learning so much from you guys. I always appreciate answers because it helps me to learn. You can read stuff online but sometimes it's hard to understand it all. Thanks again!
Thank you Rascal. I'm trying to learn and understand all this. You guys have been very helpful. Please be patient with me if I ask other questions. I have a lot!!
Oddly enough, this was found with it in a huge bag of pennies I found! Ha! It kinda fits in the hole!!!!
Looks like a .22. I thought of that but my .22 would probably put a hole in that Cent. There's no casing so it could have been hammered into the coin. I've seen that as well. Doesn't really matter as that coinnis permanently damaged.
