Maybe a nickel if you find the right buyer. And that better include shipping )

There is a definite love/hate relationship amongst coin collectors. Trust me, keep your questions direct and point out what you think makes your find stand out. All of the individuals are hunting just like you and they are looking for the uniqueness in there own finds. Check the pcgs website and coin trackers, you will find good information there. As a new hunter I am seeking plenty of information myself, but these people that have been doing it for years do not want to search through your finds as well as their own. I imagine that you can empathize with that. Just let them know what you think you found, point out anything you believe is unique, and trust me, you will get some straight answers and have some fun along the way. Have a great time hunting and enjoy it, there is a lot of knowledge to be gained. You have come to the right place.

[Edited] I found one like that in a state quarter and just thought somebody painted on it, but I could not scratch it off. Whoops, I guess I lost on that one because I spent it last week.

Edited for Rule 1 violation. Just 1 warning point this time, since your profanity was not used maliciously and might have been an unconscious mistake. ~Moderator

Good Razz: Another super lazy person with attitude. The time it took to photo the submission(s) were 10x longer then a quick search via the net. The usual childish reflex action to cry "hater" if guided to the truth... Sad

I think one of your best options is to do a little research, there are several options for study prior to posting a coin for opinions on the value and the photographs are important also. Try Coneca, Variety Vista, Coppercoins.com and I'm sure there are some more. You can also check out past sales of a coin and grade on several websites, eBay, heritage auctions, great collections. Please don't turn into another eBay seller that doesn't take the time to learn the hobby and what's valuable and what isn't and try to flip a worthless coin for money. This is a fantastic opportunity for all of us to be educated about numismatics by people who are experts and have decades of experience. It takes time and dedication to learn as much as you can, personally I have thousands of coins both raw and slabbed and I won't sell a single penny until I'm positive about what I'm doing and I'm getting a fair price and the buyers have some level of confidence in their purchases at a fair price.

And don't you hate it when you put something up for sale for a low, but fair price and then some idiot offers a less than half value having absolutely no idea what he's even talking about? All they want to do is see if you're willing to drop your price without ever having a desire to complete the purchase. Of course to those ignorant offers, it's always a bit of a challenge not to patronize them by raising your price instead of answering them seriously. Sorry, I left the theme of this thread for a moment.) I'm back now )
