Hello, can you please help me to identify this small provincial coin ? Using the obverse legend(letters left) I'm not able to find the emperor. The reverse is similar with one from Macedonia, Edessa : Roma seated left crowned by Tyche. Thanks ! 23 mm , 7.7 gr obverse : AV K?IOV.. ..MEIN... reverse: ..CCE ..YI
I know that any of the "Antoninus" emperors (AP, Caracalla, Elagabalus) used a Greek spelling with "NEIN" in it: ANTΩNEINOC. I'm not sure about "MEIN" though.
IOV is the "first name" of Philip II, sometimes like this in Greek AVT K M IOV ΦΙΛΙΠΠOC but that first AVT K can just as often be AV K too. The ΦΙΛΙΠΠOC doesn't really work though.
Sagalassos in Pasidia has CCE in it's Greek spelling: CAΓΑΛACCEΩN. Could the reverse legend start at 2 o'clock and end more towards the CCE at 10-12?
Thank you both for your help @Justin Lee and @PeterB !! I saw the strange letter before the IMEIN , now I understand is our latin ''X'' Is my first Maximinius. AV K Γ IOV OVH MAΞIMEINOC
