I can't tell much about Sassanian coinage. Can someone tell me which Sassanian King of Kings I have here. Sorry the images are not up to snuff. Thanks. View attachment 1387208 View attachment 1387209
The face of the Persian king seems disfigured and hard to tell. An amateur of these series might be more ready to guess.
Yes, the face seems disfigured and on the reverse side fire altar sems to have been compressed in the middle.
I've always just compared them with the many coins online but your question suggested to me there must be a chart: https://www.omnia.ie/index.php?navi...item=84ad988248f0f5dfd730385bb1572862&repid=2
http://www.beastcoins.com/Sasanian/Sasanian.htm When I clicked on Victor's link, I was prevented from going there because it was a non-secure site. Cutting and pasting took me to Beast's site which is very good.

I'm sure that's not how you spell it!...I'm on the road at the mo so can't verify but maybe somebody here knows...I actually think it's one of the best mixed the the above.
Thanks. I bookmarked this site. I see what you mean by paying attention to the crowns. It's hard to believe that they could wear all that on their heads. That was kind of you to share this site.
My site warned me it was not secure but opened it. What does this mean if a site is marked "not secure". Ought it not be opened at all?
We might also mention that there are many fakes of these. Be careful on any coins. Etsy is no better than eBay. https://www.google.com/search?q=sas...i59j69i61l3.5687j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Numismatics lost a great friend with the death of Tom. His site was resurrected from ashes by another friend: http://grifterrec.rasmir.com/coins.html It is huge with somewhat complicated menus but worth the time to decipher.
Nowadays Chrome (maybe other browsers too) wants site URLs to begin: https:// which is a securer version of the former standard http:// When I started all my pages all URLs were not the newer secure variety. I checked into converting to https:// and was told it would cost "a couple hundred dollars." It is not worth it to me, so I suppose some people don't go to my pages. http://augustuscoins.com/ed/ In Chrome, if you try a second time in a row to go to a site it warns you against, it will go there. Try that with my pages if you get a warning the first time. A high percentage of "unsecure" sites are fine, but don't enter important personal or financial information into forms on those sites.
