help with identifying hammered coin

    hi i have recently found this coin while metal detecting, it weighs 6 grams, if anyone could tell me what coin it is it would be very gratefully appreaited

    It is an Elizabeth I shilling, 12 pence. She was the Queen of England from 1558 to 1603. This one of earlier pieces without a date.

    No Elizabeth I shillings were made with a date. Yours has the mintmark A which makes it from the fifth issue, 1582-1584, Spink 2577

    I think I have one of them although it does not have a date on it, I was wondering weather it was sold at a gift shop from a museum... Could someone help?
    It looks identical to the ones in the picture above although mine does have the outline of the hair but you can't see the hair as clearly has you can see the picture here.

    You really need to post of picture of the coin you have before we can give you very information about it.

    Here is Elizabeth six pence which has a date. This one is in fairly high grade and shows quite a few design details.
