Not today (slumping shoulders). Maybe Monday. For those of you who have used David Sear's service, what was your experience with the lag time? Do I need to email Mr. Sear?

OK, the documentation arrived this afternoon. So without further ado,

David Sear says it is a 19th century cast fake.

But it is what I suspected

I think it's probably too late for that, but anywho, I want to keep it for study and to remind me.

Rats. Your post needs a "dislike" button. I sincerely hoped the coin was authentic.

Man, sorry to hear that! I wonder how Sear determined it was specifically a 19th century cast fake. Was any information detailed or otherwise included regarding how he arrived at his conclusion?

Sorry to hear that it is not genuine, but even a cast 19th century fake should have some value...

Perhaps, but when you add in the cost of David Sear's opinion, it's approaching the point of diminishing return.

Yikes Bing, You should have posted it to the board first if you were not sure. Good advice for all, right?

I did right after I received it and at that point I could have returned it, but it's been weeks since I got this and I just got the bad news from David Sear in yesterday's mail. Oh well. It's only money.
