Hi guys I am new here. I have found some gold coins cleaning out my wife's grandmothers apartment. It would be great if some one could let me know about rough values of these coins as I have no idea about them.

    I have 4 German 20 mark coins Dating 1875, 2x1888, and one from 1904
    here is the 1875 one

    Hello,

If those coins are authentic they are worth many thousands of dollars, the best way to figure what you have is to use completed Ebay auctions of the same coins in the same condition and see what they sold for.

Whatever you do don't wipe the coins and only touch them by the edge.

The Netherlands 1849 Ducat looks especially stunning.

I would think they are all real as I found them in an old pill bottle that had not been opened in over 40 years. I will do what you mentioned and look them up on ebay. Thanks for the reply.

    Hello,

It is also smart not to allow the coins to touch each other or get anymore scratches as you may already know.

You can also check the prices between graded coin by PCGS and ungraded coins to see if they are worth more graded.

I also like the toning on the 1910 Hungarian 10 Korona. That is a very nice set of coins you have.

PS Some coins were faked more than 40 years ago so age alone is not always proof a coin is real.

If the 1875 you have has a 'B' mintmark its worth quite a bit. If it's 'A' it will only be worth a small premium over spot in ordinary condition. (They contain 0.2304 oz of pure gold)...
