    I have this AE4 14 mm., 1.7 gm.,
with a radiate (?) bust on the obverse, and what may be described as a 'West Coast Surfer' on the obverse. Now I am pretty sure that surfers didn't make it onto Roman coins, so what do I have here?

Can anyone help me out here, please?

=> hey Topcat, never give-up on the West Coast surfer (that'd be a total keeper)

I figure the reverse as a silhouette standing- head right, with open arms.

Ha Ha! - I don't know where that is, Steve, but 50 (plus) years ago the girls waited on the beach for us, and we did the surfing.

    @>TIF -
Thank-you for pointing me to those references. Based on what I took in from a quick read, (more tomorrow - close to my bed-time now), I would say that you have 'nailed' it.
    Thank-you, again.

Yes, TIF, and I say that I haven't changed at all.

(P.S. for those that know such things - with the help of 'Pete Byers' I made that board and the first 18 inches is solid 'plaster' for 'big wave' riding. With that board, I caught up with Robert and Mike at Piha (NZ) in 1966 when they were filming 'The Endless Summer' movie.)

'Bombs' to get there, 'Beer' to drink there, and 'Beach Bunnies' for company. Those were the days allright.

Thank-you, YOC. I was wondering 'I' or 'II'.
I am happy with Tetricus II / Sol, Barbarous Imitation, c.275-285 A.D.
