    Insider,
Sorry about all the images as I am still getting use to the controls.
My handle M1 means M1 Garand that was my best friend during my time in 2nd Marines 3 batt. Force recon.

I missed this somehow. Anyhow, the D is wrong both location and probably shape. IMO, counterfeit

I think it is closer to VF. BTW, did you notice the coin was a counterfeit?

@GDJMSP See, even counterfeit coins have grades.

Yes I did, thanks to your help and am getting my money back.
The seller swears its real sooo I took some close ups of " GOD" and mint mark and it was pretty obvious.
I should have noticed it was a fugazi but after 3 single malts I fell asleep. :dead:
    I owe you one !!
    Thanks again

Those close-ups seal the deal on this being a fake, IMO.

I'm not knowledgable enough to comment on the coin's authenticity, but I know 14Ds have been driven down to rock bottom on ebay. I just sold an NGC VF25 for $239 and the most I see in completed listings is around $250. It's a buyer's market for sure!

VF detail but it doesn't appear to be a mint product to me. I would pass unless authenticated.

It has been. The shape and location of the "D" is not anything found on a genuine 14-D.

    XF with environmental damage.

Also, the D looks odd to me.

I'm kind of late to the discussion, but I agree that it is counterfeit. On the reverse there is a bump/die defect on the left wheat ear (up and to the left of the "U" in "United") that is seen on a lot of counterfeit Lincoln cents of various dates.
