Hey there, Just received a lot of coins I won at auction. There is a whole lot there and I am working through them, however a few are giving me a hard time in terms of identification. Any input would be appreciated. The Philip 8 maravedis is tough to fully attribute because I can’t seem to find the reverse. Thanks!
Coin #1 This coin, I believe, is a Spanish 8 Maravedis. However, I cannot determine a variety based on the Numista entry. This example is the closest to coin you have pictured. Edit: I just saw your original post concerning this coin. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces46040.html
Coins #2 and #5 These coins are likely from the Spanish Netherlands. However, weight and diameter would narrow a search down. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces8586.html https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces68229.html https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces111420.html https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces33820.html
Coin #4 My best guess is that your coin is of any of the following three types. Apparently, the Republic of Ragusa minted coins of similar designs for quite a while. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces128264.html https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces39795.html https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces157604.html @Mark Metzger
