Here are five Nazi tokens I've owned for many years, presumably of World War II vintage, and struck for use in the Channel Islands between France and Great Britain, i.e., Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, etc. US Quarter shows relative size.

    "Kanalinseln" translates to Channel Islands.

Can anyone say whether they are genuine, bogus, or simply fantasy pieces, never used at all? There's nothing on the backs.

I looked up one of the Tokens on Numista and this came up.
Maybe the info on the right can help? Size and weight info.

Thanks. On even my worst day in geometry class, 60 years ago, I was never asked to find the diameter of a triangle...:stop:

Looks like I am batting .500 on these; when I get data on the fifth one, I'll put them up as a lot and refer buyers back to this thread. Some people collect fakes and fantasies.

    Thanks to everyone so far.

I am requesting you do right now. The dimensions of the triangle are large.

This is the only possible interpretation of "diameter," I guess. From the base up to the round tip of the top point = 38mm.

Diameter of a triangle is determined by the three points. Three points can determine a circle. At first, I thought you were randomly wize cracking, then I see the 411 for the Triangle token lists it's diameter. That is a commonly used parameter in Teutonic engineering where you really have to read and re-read to grasp exactly what the brutally simple language is saying.

A cnc machine will extrapolate a circle from three points, it cannot do it with only two.

Lay the token on a 38mm circle. Do all three points touch the circle's circumference?

If not, try it on a 40mm circle.

In that case, obviously I did it wrong. I have no compass, so its diameter will remain a mystery for the time being.

As far as "brutally simple," I recall Mark Twain's complaint that he once read a German novel and had no clue what it was about until the final seven pages, where all the verbs were clustered.

I own examples of the square one and the triangular one. After I bought them mid 1980s I found out they were 1970s era fantasies.

I have a set of these as well. As scottish said, they are fantasy pieces.

Right; a modern fantasy piece would probably be "better". That is, the creators would not make simple mistakes such as that "reichmarks" spelling any more. ;)
