Thank you! How can you tell the 1/2 tael and the 1 tael apart? Do you think my coin is genuine or a reproduction?
Flat and incorrect details, definitely fake. Would be a $100k coin if genuine. Supposed to be this: https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/35098421_china-nd1913-yuan-shi-kai-10-cash-copper-pattern
Thank you. I was expecting that. What intrigues me is I can't find any other like these two in this thread. Replicas are usually made in huge numbers and you can easily find about them online for a buck or two, on websites I'm not going to name here. These two, I can't find anything. They came in a lot of old coins from a seller without any history of selling fakes.
The first one is commonly seen, just do a google images search for kwangtung fantasy tael. Second one, my guess is you won't find them on alibaba because it's illegal for them to fake their own country's existing coins.
I can't seem to find first either on ababa. Is there a chance there's something old about these? Like being made 50 years or so? Or 100 percent they're made recently? Came in a lot with coins from late 1800's and early to mid 1900's.
