    I've seen these marks quite a bit lately in a lot of my pocket change. Quarters, nickels, pennies, etc. I don't know what's causing the marks (I suspect change machines like they have at Chipotle and other places) but it's not a mint error and it's not specific to any coin type or mint mark (D or P).

    this is damage caused by rolling machines, this coin was on the end of a roll...
