Help? Ebay sale question

    It can't be a D,Denver didn't make proof coins.The coin is a proof minted at sanfransisco(S),also PCGS certified can't beat that everything is right.They did have major quality control issues during those times,the mint marks can look quite odd.

    Mint marks on those tend to be funny-looking anyway, and it's a bad photo. I'm pretty sure it'll be an S.

    It's a stock photo of something the seller has multiples of. You'll get the S, not a D

    Agree has to be S, but learn to do a Contact Seller message and ask them to please verify...most are glad to in good time, and occasionally they do mix up photos with text...the contact seller link is on the right in listing.

    Why bother? There are a ton of cheaper 1976 S Silver PCGS coins. Just look below the listing you provided.

    It's an S. By 1976 the S punch was deteriorating and becoming the rectangular blob that we are familiar with on the 1979 Type 1 mintmark coins.
