The interesting thing about this particular medal is that, unlike the other unfortunate dead royals the subject of this medal (the Duc D'Orleans) was himself a revolutionary and infamously voted for the death of Louis his first cousin before he also fell victim to the Terror. The reverse image has a snake slithering around a crown to make the point. </p><p><br /></p><p>If anyone has any idea how I can find out more about this and the other medals in the series I would very much appreciate it.
