Found this along with a few other cool colonial finds, such as a signet ring, a button, and a pair of cufflinks. Any ideas on the variety this one is? I will post better photos after I clean it a little more.

The year is 1787, in case you were wondering. Also, I can't find any from that year with the "ET" on the left side of the seated figure. Also, It appears to be a mailed bust.

That is an amazing find, not for the numismatic value as thanks to corrosion and the hole it is very low, but for the historical value. This was used in Early America.

(Too bad on the West Coast I have to buy one, but at least we have more S-mint coins...)

I think that hole is a natural fissure in the planchet, NOT damage.

Agreed! Planchet fissures are quite common in Connecticut coppers.
