Not many helmets without a head got posted. I got a Republican example last year: Mn. Cordius Rufus. 46 BC. Denarius. 19-18 mm. 3.62 grams. Owl perched on Corinthian helmet right, RVFVS behind aegis with Medusa head at center (too worn to see details, and the reverse photo is upside down) and CORDIVS MN around counterclockwise from 2:00 in the photo (MN ligature at 3:00) Crawford 463/2. Sear 441. Ia this thread done? No one can add another type of helmet without a head?
How about this one: Carthaginians in Hispania AE 1/4 Calco, 1.5g, 13mm; mobile military mint, 218-208 BC. Obv.: Wreathed head of Tanit left. Rev.: Crested helmet left, with cheek guards.
