For the people who've been waiting for them for years: I was just sent a photo of a shrink-wrapped SNI bundle with a label showing a starting serial of JL14231138B. The packaging is also marked for the Cincinnati branch of the FRB, but I don't know any more than that about where they're turning up. The Fed's currency order for 2016 estimated that some 600 million of the 2009 $100's would be salvaged and issued during the year. Unless their estimate is way off, these things aren't going to be scarce, so I wouldn't recommend paying crazy money for the first one to appear on Ebay....
