I was playing around with it this morning and found I could do the following. There was a lot more under the wrench icon. Not sure what's going on with 86 Lincoln but it looked interesting PS The second photo is not of the 86 but a 83 DDR
I was thinking of getting a dino-lite, thought of Chris' question, but have yet to ask it. Will it capture an image of the entire coin, including large size dollar coins?
You can get an image of the entire coin, but you have to back out and use a stand. This was a quick shot with mine (the cheap one, less resolution) without using a stand so its a bit blurry...
I've used mine quite a bit and haven't seen Jesus, The Virgin Mary, Elvis, or any other illu...eh-hem..delusions yet.
Dino-lite basic (AM-2011) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003Q9OVFW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 Not sure what the OP is using
That was my first one. It did a great job. Now upgraded to AM-411T. Hope the prices for the 5mp go down I'd like to get one of them.
I own a dino-lite, just make sure you get something better then 50x . ( max with scope on coin ) Yes you can also take images as big as morgan dollars too ...
Using there stand, I remove the top cap run the holder all the way up. They make a pole extension but it's way over priced and the thread seems to be an odd size. Then I can do an ASE or dollar.
If I want to do a photo of the whole slab I use my camera Canon SX20IS. I put the slab on a plastic stand with a 3x5 card on it then shoot, crop using Photoscape some day I'll learn to do it right
I am on my second Dino-Lite. I had a 411-T and moved up. The problem with the 411-T is with the camera having a round top, the focus area is a smaller circumference. I moved up to one with a flat top to get the whole focus area. Don't get me wrong, the 411 is a great little camera. I also have added an extension to the stand that you can buy from Dino-Lite and just screws into the top of the existing piece. You can add more extensions if you so desire.
