I have a pretty simple question. Should you, and can you, get a coin graded from within it's original proof set packaging? Do PCGS and NGC and others require you remove the coin from the set in order to be graded? How does this work?

I opened Two 2001-s silver sets & sent in the Kennedy Halves & the dimes.
Handled them with cotton gloves on the rims, put them in 2.5 x. 2.5 flips,
& submitted them. Also sent in a 1964 proof set in the original cello & they graded all the coins, cent thru half.

You can send it in for grading in the hard case. They will charge $1 dollar extra per coin to remove. That's what someone on this forum once said (don't remember who, sorry).

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

TPGs will take coins from the mint case, but all coins in the case must go through the grading process.
