Coin Vault is showing on my DishNetwork guide on ch. 225 from 6pm - 12am et tonight with Scott Houk and Robert Chambers.
They broadcast about 20 miles from where I am am currently typing this. The studios and my ISP are actually on the same building. East TN has quite a history of shopping networks. Shop at Home, VCC, Jewelry Television (formerly America's Collectibles Network - they had a lot of coin shows) and now Coin Country. There were on or two others for a while in Knoxville that I can't remember the names of.
The HSN coin show was on a few weeks ago as I watched a little bit of it. However, they're not on as much as they used to be. I'd like to hear their explanation of the Mint putting out satin finish mint sets when they (HSN) kept saying over and over that 2009 would be the last year.
Since you're so close, why don't you run over to the studio and tell Chambers that they should start quoting prices from CDN Greysheet instead of their "Leading Numismatic Catalog". Thanks! Chris
but their prices are almost double greysheet! How are they ever going to make a profit if they start selling at greysheet?
Ok, I liked watching the Coin Collector and Mike and Alan even got me once with the Westward Series Collection. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. I haven't seen them lately. Perhaps the recession has dried up the idiot money (like me the first time).
Flipping through the channels tonight and seen that Coin Collector is on HSN, so these guys are still broadcasting.
I'm sure I've seen it in the last week or so. They were selling a set of 09, 09VDB, and 09 IHC cents for 90 bucks, IIRC. Joe
The AVC coin show that John Binns (and his brother.?) are doing is pretty interesting to me. I'm sure the prices are high but it's a lot more variety that the piles of proof and mint sets I was seeing on the other shows.
