I want a Slap Chop, with it's little pat Graty, as well as several dozen different vacuum devices...ALL clad to 24 K gold! I must have seen that commercial a dozen times and never noticed the word copy on it. Anybody who knows anything about coins would be able to tell that it's not a real thing, though I am sure we are not the target audience.
They have been doing this same thing for decades just They have been doing this same thing for decades just different copies/different lies/coins and deceptions. You cannot even pick up in your fingers 31 mg. of anything unless you wet your finger and sponge it up. I too get a little upset until I hear the first three cardinal rules of lying. 1. Association with something else that is real. 2. Too much information about the real thing your not going to get. 3. A quickly reduced cost and limited time frame for order. They (these type companies) are used to slithering around like serpents with lies/deception and have no reason to ever change. It is also, at least a bit, the buyers fault - first a little greed. Yes greed, they somehow are conned into thinking they are getting something worth much more and get eager to jump on. But most of all it's simple fact that they have not, as everyone should, arm themselves with knowledge first checkbook second!
Yes a girl I work with brought it up the other work and she thought it was real. I told her to listen to the commercial carefully b/c it's supposed to sound real, as the company wants to fool ppl. I told her that it's definitely a copy which is electroplated with gold. I can't even imagine how many ppl buy this krap!! You would think the FCC would encourage ethics!!
A fool and his money are soon parted. Anybody that thinks someone will sell them an ounce of gold for $19.95 qualifies as a fool.
LOL!!! Indeed... I am with you all, I see that commercial and i get really mad.. I can see poor granny getting all exited and buying one as an "investment" for her grandchildren.. it's disgusting what they are doing.
I too am ticked at this but this is the way it is. I've come to the conclusion that it is perfectly okay to lie on TV to sell your product. I can't trust any info commercial as I suspect they are all crooks. However, I did buy a few things from Billy Mays, like KaBoom, which works great in the shower. If you take this a step closer, the only way this is going to get cleaned up is for Big Brother to step in. Then we'll have the moans and groans about the government getting bigger and bigger. It's like being caught between a rock and a hard place.
