Well I lost the bid. Was hoping&nbsp; that another would come available , then a day later a I got a message .&nbsp; The message&nbsp; said the wining bid couldn&#039;t&nbsp; afford&nbsp; the ring. I was like sold I&#039;ll&nbsp; take it.</p><p>Now here&#039;s&nbsp; the best part.... the ring is tracked from Israel&nbsp; through&nbsp; customs. Now it&#039;s&nbsp; in customs at JFK&nbsp; NYC.</p><p>It&#039;s&nbsp; a Sunday&nbsp; morning&nbsp; and I run out for a paper and two coffees. I notice&nbsp; a US mail truck bouncing&nbsp; down the road. Thinking man that&#039;s&nbsp; Strange!</p><p>I get in with the coffees and paper and the ring&nbsp; in the package&nbsp; is sitting&nbsp; next to the front door. Duh!!!</p><p>Then find out she signed for it .....duh again! It was delivered&nbsp; at 7:50 am on a Sunday morning .</p><p>But what happened&nbsp; next is unreal.......</p><p>We were on vacation&nbsp; and she had the ring on. We walked into a jewelry&nbsp; shop and we&#039;re really just window&nbsp; shopping.</p><p>The guy behind&nbsp; the&nbsp; counter&nbsp; asks to see her ring. She holds out her hand. Next he called another person&nbsp; over. Who asks&nbsp; if they can see the ring in hand. Strange I&#039;m&nbsp; thinking .&nbsp; I said ok ....so the wife removes the ring.</p><p>Both put their loops on the stone.</p><p>Next thing I know they are making offers on either the ring complete&nbsp; or just the stone. Cash offers or they will put another&nbsp; stone in the ring our choice.&nbsp; Offers&nbsp; kept coming&nbsp; until we hit the 9 K figure . Laying down $100. Bills on the glass counter. I&#039;m&nbsp; like I&#039;m&nbsp; not&nbsp; interested&nbsp; in&nbsp; selling&nbsp; my wife&#039;s ring!</p><p>That&#039;s&nbsp; when&nbsp; I said no....and we had to get back to the ship.</p><p>Sure enough&nbsp; when we got home we had the ring appraised.</p><p>Home run..... a $750. Second&nbsp; chance&nbsp; offer&nbsp; scored a 10K&nbsp;&nbsp; 2.5&nbsp; ct . Tanzanite&nbsp; stone plus it was set in 18kt.
