Now it's in customs at JFK NYC.</p><p>It's a Sunday morning and I run out for a paper and two coffees. I notice a US mail truck bouncing down the road. Thinking man that's Strange!</p><p>I get in with the coffees and paper and the ring in the package is sitting next to the front door. Duh!!!</p><p>Then find out she signed for it .....duh again! It was delivered at 7:50 am on a Sunday morning .</p><p>But what happened next is unreal.......</p><p>We were on vacation and she had the ring on. We walked into a jewelry shop and we're really just window shopping.</p><p>The guy behind the counter asks to see her ring. She holds out her hand. Next he called another person over. Who asks if they can see the ring in hand. Strange I'm thinking . I said ok ....so the wife removes the ring.</p><p>Both put their loops on the stone.</p><p>Next thing I know they are making offers on either the ring complete or just the stone. Cash offers or they will put another stone in the ring our choice. Offers kept coming until we hit the 9 K figure . Laying down $100. Bills on the glass counter. I'm like I'm not interested in selling my wife's ring!</p><p>That's when I said no....and we had to get back to the ship.</p><p>Sure enough when we got home we had the ring appraised.</p><p>Home run..... a $750. Second chance offer scored a 10K 2.5 ct . Tanzanite stone plus it was set in 18kt.
