I buy or trade for any cap bust half dime that I can aquire at a fair price. Most dealers you and I both know here in Maryland tell me they dont get the opportunity to obtain type coins as such ,and when they do its because collectors like you and I have passed on. I've worked at shows where a person would ask if I knew if any bust quarters were available in the room ? Someone wanting one for a type set. I am fortunate to know so many dealers working the shows and many know me well enough and what I collect. So yeah while setting up before the show opens they will show me and give me a fair price, even some wholesalers come to me also and offer me coins. But the last few times they have their inventory isn't anything to write home about. Now I will buy within reason , but Ralph who runs the show had a seated h-10 proof dime I mistaken priced at $90 as the obv. Was perfect however the rev. Was atotal mess with huge gouges of missing medal , i had asked him to hold it for me until after the show , so he said what do you want to about it ? I said as soon as i can get to an atm I'll give you the $90 bucks...Ralph said 90 bucks thats 900.00 bucks its a very low mintage. I was like pass...buying a problem coin eyes wide open at a doable price is one thing... paying close to a grand isnt happening. And that one still sits in his inventory. So to answer your question til one of us pass on and our collection is back in the market ...no you wont find them...and yeah I feel your pain as i buy any I can afford with the hopes of finding a marriage I dont have....but to be honest even after I sit down and do the attribution if it is one I have, I still keep it, instead of cutting it loose again.....why because you just dont find them . So to answer your question if they become popular no they become hard to obtain until a collection like mine is sold after my passing. And yes their prices like any thing else that is hard to find will pay up.[/QUOTE]
