Has this 1857 Large Cent been Recolored?

    I didn't think about it being counterfeit. It looks correct.
    However the 1857 is the lowest mintage Braided Hair Liberty Head Large Cent,
    333,000.

    My thinking it is legit, but pictures make the color seem off a bit. It could just be nothing but the pictures.

    As I mentioned, the color appears a bit unusual to me too. I bought it at a coin shop in Dallas around 1989. I have no doubts it is legit.
    I will give it a short acetone bath sometime.
