Anything that is out of the ordinary such as halfs, dollar voins and 2 dollar bills go right back to the bank. Since merchants to do &quot;request&quot; these while at the bank, the bank accumulates small quantities and then ships them back to their coin suppliers who in turn send them back to the Federal Reserve Bank.</p><p><br /></p><p>The ONLY place that regularly uses half dollars are Casino&#039;s whcih have $1 Blackjack Tables which pays 1.5 to 1 on a blackjack. Some of these Casino&#039;s still do not use half dollars though since they have their own half dollar tokens.</p><p><br /></p><p>Until BIG BUSINESS cannot order one dollar notes from the banks or Federal Reserve, the dollar coin is doomed to extinction. Its ALWAYS been that way and ALWAYS will ne that way until the US Treasury steps up and makes the necessary changes of eliminating the Paper Bill.</p><p><br /></p><p>The only chance the half dollar has would be if the cashiers of this country were actually educated in counting change back to customers.</p><p><br /></p><p>And while they&#039;re at it, could they please put the coins in my hand and then the bills?
