Just looking for some input from collectors that may have built a set of Canadian Maple 1oz coins... I didn't go for the 'bullion' forum because those folks only insult numisatists for wanting to put together a set of what they consider bullion only coins. I finished my ASE set, and noticed Dansco makes an album for the Maple Leafs from our friends to the north, and thought "Hey, maybe I'll try that set...". The Dansco book only has holes for each date 1988 to present, no mint marks, no burnish issues, proofs, or anything other than one distinct "1999/2000" variety. Is it an easy set to build with pretty coins? Are there any hard or "key" dates? Are there proofs? What is the "1999/2000" version that is listed along with individual 1999 and 2000 coins? Any other pointers on this series of coins? Also, I saw one 'set' on eBay with 1,2,3,4, and 5 dollar versions of the Maple Leaf? Did they do this full set every year, or was it a special set? Some on eBay have different mint marks, what is up with that when it comes to collecting a set? They are more 'trademarks' than actual letter mint marks... Info? Thanks! Dave
