There you have it..... don't touch it with a 10 foot pole!!! Check out the feedbacks of the seller: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=coinclub&iid=260963221412&de=off&items=25&which=negative&interval=365&_trkparms=negative_365
Thanks for all the posts, everyone! I'm fairly new to Coin Talk, and am just amazed at the amount of knowledge that is shared here. The humorous posts are great reads, too! Jonathan
And he puts this "disclaimer" in all his auctions: "Since all numbering is subjective, you are advised to closely examine the photos of the coins offered for sale. Numismatic Professionals suggest you buy the coin, not the holder or the grade. When you decide to purchase a coin, evaluate the coin yourself. Even the top coin grading services make mistakes; do not associate value with grade." I like the part "do not associate value with grade"... yep, they're totally unrelated, lol.
Are you learning anything yet just based off this thread? It's pretty remarkable what you find out about eBay, dealers, counterfeiting, and everything else. Kinda scary sometimes, especially if you're new to the hobby/business.
Someone was suckered into it for $330. The disclaimer talks about abiding by the laws in Yakima County, Washington, in the event of a legal dispute.
My suspicions about this slab/coin/"grading service" were always there. I did a Google search for NACS out of curiosity when the high bids were around $90, and found nothing, which is what prompted the post. The MS-66 grade was laughable too.
NACS=Not a clue sorry Thats what they say when asked if the coin has been cleaned. That coin is toast
Nacs Coins I purchased several NACS coins and found them to be very nice. I brought them to my local coin dealer and he felt they were graded correctly. You will not be dissapointed.:smile
