Back at you Noost. We did our part. I helped light off a truck load of the biggest WI had to offer at a party last night. Man that was fun!

Lets not forget what freedom is and all it entails this 4th of July. Have fun everybody!

Fourth of July is probably my favorite holiday. I love my country!

But today is also my birthday :) Growing up, I thought the parades and fireworks were all for me!

I've got a nice little stash that I'll be lighting off tonight. I've still got some from New Mexico that I bought back in '04.:D

I'm actually glad I'll be working all weekend...too many rude and idiotic out of towners flooding the area and drinking and driving...not my idea of a fun time.

Yep here too... But our stupid neighbors do it anyway, and I end up calling the cops every year.

Yep you did, and now I'm going to explain why this is bad.
In San Antonio it is very dry, we hardly ever get rain, and when we do it is a little amount, every year people light off fireworks, and there are fires, house fires, and people complain and go all I did was light off some simple fireworks, well it is illegal and they are fined.
Another thing, my dog gets seizures from bright lights, including lightning and every year he gets the seizures, and he is on medications for it, and one day without them, he gets seizures without the bright lights.
And just one more thing, one of my mom's coworker's nephew got 3 of his fingers blow off due to fireworks, because he didn't get out of the way soon enough, and now he is messed up, for life.
So I think you can see why I do not like fireworks.
This year I'm not going to call the cops though, my dad is a cop, and if they do, my dad is going out there himself.

Treasonous ? Ya darn right ! Had the Revolution failed, every one of them would have been hunted down and hanged by the neck until dead.

All those men were truly brave. Truly strong.

FYI, Our 5th President, James Monroe also died on Independence Day but 5 years later (July 4, 1831).

The end of the last sentence before they signed reads: "we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortune and our sacred Honor."

A great many of them did in fact lose their lives, fortunes and honor before it was all over. Recommended reading for the bios of each of the signers is titled "Founders of Freedom in America" by David C. Whitney. J.G. Ferguson Publishing Co. Unfortunately long since out of print.

Two of my neighbors sons just rotated back from "Over There" this month.

One a Ranger, one a Marine.
They are not outside right now going WoW WoWWooo! with the BOOMS.

Neither is outside watching the fireworks with us.

Too much like being at work on Independence day I guess, folks.

Go Figure and get with it. Freedom ain't free, I told them years ago and they are doing their part now....at such a cost.

    God Bless America.

Hey Travis , I was just joking with you.... I do understand.. I live in an area that is treed TG it's been very wet on the east coast this spring/summer! The last thing I want is to see my home go up in flames! As for your pouch I understand that too I have an 11 y/o rescue dal who is thunder phobic! As I type this she is now hunker down in my pillow on my bed because of the fire works! I live 10 miles south of Balto. and 10 mile north of Annapolis between both cities fireworks displays the nuts out side firing off their M-80 and what ever else they got "hoping its not C-4" we are home taking care of our dog also. Fireworks are legal here as long as they don't go boom! However tell that to a bunch of liquired up red necks......no thanks I always been careful around UFO'S as they may be bullets. Hope your day was fun and spent with family & friends. Regards Paddy

Pease let me add a true story. I worked with the nicest guy up in Utica. He told me it took him two years to stop jumping under the bed when he heard a loud noise. It must have been pretty bad out there for him to react like that. Talking about Korea. Lots of horror real stories out there.
We owe these men and women an awful lot. THANK YOU.
