This accounts for the dwindling annual production in recent years. 1.9 - 1.7 million for each branch in 2009, 2010, and 2011.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The US Mint is authorized to produce all the current denomination of coins used in the country but if the Federal Reserve Bank (their primary customer) does not order any then they stop the presses as they did in 2009 for the Jefferson Nickels and Roosevelt Dimes as reported in the May 11, 2009 issue of Coin World.
