11 Silver halves in a single BWR, might be the most I've ever seen. But then they just kept comming! Final count: 42 40% silver, 6 90% with 3 Franklins and a Walker!
Yahoo . . . I suspect that bankers are kept so busy nowadays, dealing with with the excessive federal regulations, that no one even has time to break open the rolls. They likely just weigh them and throw them in the corner, assuming they'll free someone up to make sure they are correct later on, but never get to it.
Banks don't wrap their own coins. Geez, federal regulations are so tough that they don't even have time to go to the bathroom. They don't break open every roll they get from their supplier to inspect them, anyway. I've never known a bank to keep a scale handy to weigh coins. Chris
I wasn't thinking about rolls they get from their supplier . . . I was referring to rolls that get deposited by their customers. I don't know if they have scales or not but, lacking the time to count out the coins, weighing them is a pretty accurate way of confirming that the quantity should be right.
My bank has always trusted me. Perhaps they check those customers they don't trust. So, tell me, how much is a roll supposed to weigh? How many bank tellers do you think know this info. Please don't make blanket statements when you are just speculating. That's how false rumors like "a copper cent is worth 2c" start. Chris
It's a shame that you all put the "kid" down for his searching and enthusiasm, instead of guidance and support of the next generation of collectors. I remember being ignored and put down when I was just starting and made to feel small and ignorant by the "elder" collectors. Bad karma.
So many collectors with YEARS of experience has tried to help this kid - He blew everybody off as to get people to watch his Youtube videos so he can make money from us - If you want to be his next IDIOT - GO FOR IT!!
Did I hear somewhere that the "kid" is something like 38 years old or something? Not quite a "kid" unless there are other factors at play.
They say he is a kid because he sounds like one. Which nothing is wrong with that. I'm a kid and I'm a member. I just don't lie about my age.
