    those problem free Barbers in the VF-35 to EF-45 range are not easy to find. A complete set in that range would be a tough task to complete. In nice Mintstate it would cost a fortune....like 7 figures.

    This is what my problem is.

    Albeit there are quite a few shops here in California, many shops shamelessly add premiums for the key pieces. Barbers in XF get a 20% tacked on, seemingly due to their scarcity.

    I understand; I'm stuck on Canadian coins myself. The only American I have is a Mercury dime which I found in my change.

    I started to collect the franklins I have the 1948d PCGS slabed MS 64 FBL and the 1951 PCGS slabed MS 64. Good luck with collection.

    I pretty much follow the same path as you. I can't afford to go and buy the high grade Barber halves currently, so Fine is the grade I try to stick with.
