Half Dime 1843, error or damaged coin?

    Hello,

    I am not expert on US coins, but this one catch my attention. I am not sure if this is some kind of error or simply damaged coin (somebody tried to fix something).

    Could be a Lamination issue. But you will need much better pictures. Too dark to determine.

    Yep, that's damage on the reverse.

    Can you post a better pic of the Obverse, specifically the right obverse field?

    See how there is moved metal around the anomaly? That is indicative of PMD

    Thanks, somebody probably tried to "fix" something so it ended up completely messed.
