hmmm... wonder if I should dump the rest of my sets quickly? If more get graded like this, prices might come down.
When all is said and done, there will be plenty of 70s. Congrats McBlzr! If you are selling, I would do so sooner than later. TC
We have got to be getting close to peak. I think people are paying a high premium now in hopes of scoring a 70. When the true number of 70s start to get posted, which I think will be higher than people expect, prices are sure to fall. Think about what you are really getting in the Truman set: an ounce of silver, 8 cents in postage, and a $1 coin that people will care much less about once the Eisenhower is released. Not many are talking about the 2014 RP Sacagawea anymore. Very few are even talking about the 2015 RP MOD sets anymore. All of these RP coins will all be a distant memory once the 2016 coins celebrating the designs of 1916 are released. TC
Yeah, the 70 price is probably too high, but I see room for the lesser grades to rise. As for the other sets/coins you mention, yeah, in the short run attention will be turned to the latest set, but in the long run these sets contain key dates for modern series, so at some point they should continue to rise. As for future president sets, depends on whether or not the mint increases mintages, hard to believe they'll pass up profits. If they don't increase mintages, they'll all be worth much more than issue price. As for the 2016 gold sets, very limited market and probably too high mintage for gold coins (like the 2014 Kennedy).
I wonder what the lowest NGC has ever graded a medal. I would be tempted to carry a medal as a pocket piece and send it in so I could own a "circulated medal," whatever that is. Congrats on all those 70s!
NGC package arrived yesterday, but had to wait till this morning to have time to take pics. I can't take good pics, hands too shakey.
