The biggest problem I had was at Home Despot with female teenage/twenty something cashiers! The first one told me that she didn't know what the exchange rate for gold was? The line was long so I gave the bills. The second time a different one said they only take US money, the women in line behind me asked her if she could read? That upset the young lady and the head cashier came and told her that they had to take them. All though they would prefer not to due to no slot for them. The third time, I had one call the manager since I was the only one in line and she looked like I was going to rob her. The manger explained to her that they were real, they were US coinage, and they were only worth a dollar each so treat them as dollars bills. The way he explained it, you knew that she wasn't the brightest bulb on their string of customer service! On the other side I used to use them for a paper and coffee, at the 7-11 each morning. The cashier told me after a week that she had a guy that was giving her an extra quarter for each one as he wanted them for his Vegas vacation. A case of two people that didn't know where their bank was and that you could get them there! A lot of younger people and even older ones don't watch, read or listen to the news today. Let alone pay attention to coinage age other than their pay envelope. I just got tired of the lost time and hassles, so I stopped using them. Plus the banks could only get the SBA's from the armor car companies, rerolled from the casino's. Now they are a real PIA to try to use. I have been told they are only quarters that somebody FIXED! I did ask for her to explain [/QUOTE]
