A bunch of different things - including, but not limited to 1798, 1799 Bust Dollars, 2 1806 Bust quarters, 1795 half dime, 1805 half dime, several bust half dollars, 1886 Liberty Nickel, St. Gaudens, 1853 $5 gold coronet, etc. I should mention this also included all of my gold and silver platinum eagles - those went when gold hit a 1000. I also got new landscaping for the house :mouth:, some large cents and some IHC's. Most of my latest purchases come from these coins. Trust me - I like the commemoratives, most are well struck and very nice - I just decided I wanted to go another direction. My father had far fewer than me and traded them in for proof sets - his now go back to 1951. Even with all that I have a chunk of change left.

The commemorative collectors I know buy only from the mint and really do not put any effort into it. Doing it for their kids. They look at em once and into the closet(or safe) they go. While I still consider them collectors they do not.

Spock I looked on line at what prices dealers had them listed for - yes I could have made additional money if I wanted to put up with the headache. Overall I came out ahead on the deal - good enough for me. Plus I wanted my dealer to be the one to make the money on the coins - I know some will move quick and some slow. I just did not want to mess with it. The only modern I have left are my three sets of silver eagles. One way of thanking them and building the relationship. All of them always take time to talk to me and help me, even when they are very busy.
