This is an 1883-CC that I got in one of the famous GSA sales for $45, I think. It was in the discard category of excessively baggy and/or toned coins. I sent it to ANACS when it was still part of the ANA, and they graded it MS63/63. Many years later, I sent it to NGC. What grade do you think they assigned to this coin? IMG_5630.jpg

To me, it looks MS64, with the CC bump I say it graded MS65.

Great looking coin, you got a sweet deal on that one!! As far as a re-grade, I'm thinking the same MS63 or MS62! :D

Great looking Morgan! Neat reverse toning. I'd guess NGC graded this MS64.

    I would say 65, possibly 66, but more likely a 65.

This is one of those coins that looks a lot better "in hand" than it does in my pictures. I'm posting another picture of the obverse that somehow didn't make it into my original post. I will note that CAC didn't give it a green bean.

I'll post the "reveal" at 8 CST tonight. Thanks for looking and for saying nice things about the coin. I'm not big on toned coins, but I've always liked this one, which is why I've kept it.

Here's the reveal. The coin actually has some reflectivity, but my pictures, taken with an I-Phone 8+, didn't show it.

So much for photograde lol. But as you say better in hand and that's understandable.

No disrespect to you Mike. The coin is lovely but she don't in no way command such a grade.......

And to unconvince me, better photogs will be in order. :)

Just curious, did you submit it in the ANACS graded slab or had you cracked it and submitted without? Thanks

My guess was 65 and it looked semi-pl.
I'm a bit surprised with the 66pl, but it could be the picture (and the one point GSA grade bump).
