Ah, that's a pretty one, she's put together fine. The pictures are a little dark. Provided I'm not missing wear, she's MS63-64, even with the small cuts and the one on the old schnozzola.
I like the color. It looks nice and original to me. I voted 64, but I wouldn't be surprised to see 64+ or 65.
Very nice coin... looks like a hammer strike and great color... ill say 63 and i if u dont mind me asking,.. how much did that lovely lady set you back??? U can answer AFTER the reveal so u dont give any clues if u would like...
Sure I'll give an approximate price after revealing the grade (likely at some point tomorrow). For now, you guys can guess a price as well.
@bsowa1029 and @physics-fan3.14 had the right idea. The toning is likely questionable, but I'm guessing it could be market acceptable after a few tries (I don't plan to resubmit). @heavycam.monstervam due to the grade I was able to get this for under 45
Id crack that outta there in a heartbeat!! Tis still a nice coin!! I.woulda bought it for $45 everyone is skeptical w toned peace dollars!!Another coin (morgan) and it probably woulda straight graded... well maybe,i guess it DOES have that burnt orange color associated w AT
Paul this coin exhibits the 3 primary colors you will see on an AT coin: billowing shades of blue, magenta and burnt orange... if u head over to the john e cash website u will see a really good explanation AND some really nice high end toners..drool... among other useful info
color progressions tell a lot on many questionable coins, but experience helps seeing true NT at the end of the day imo. peace dollars' surfaces can be lifeless sometimes, so lifeless tone doesn't automatically AT it ... but this one is, like others have said, a candidate for the crackout game (a coinflip perhaps?)
Wait, did you crack that out of a problem holder and resubmit it to ANACS to get it straight graded? C'mon man! Photography tip: use two lamps when photographing big coins like silver dollars.
