Although I might hold off a little longer to give @Morgandude11 and @Lehigh96 a chance to guess as well.
67-FS* beautiful War nickel it was a hard choice, looks like there's an (I) carved into the cheek but I'm certain they missed it.
MS 66+ FS. Love the toning on both sides. Marginally prefer the obverse. A beautiful coin. I am betting on Market Acceptability of the toning.
I'm thinking the obverse wasn't to the liking of PCGS. I think it could have slid by but I don't have an issue with the decision. It is one of the cooler looking QC nickels I have owned.
Questionable color means that PCGS does not think the toning is market acceptable-so they give it a details grade.
Its a bit of a different color granted but to me it still follows a nice color flow front to back, and putting remarks like that and details hurts the coins value, shame on them
I had a slight thought it could've been details but thought for sure it would pass,to me it deserves a pass but a nice looking Jeff nonetheless.
PCGS here....but yes I've seen worse from both PCGS and NGC get by...I did not send it (bought in the details holder), so I'm not too worried about. It cost me a lot less than had it been straight graded.
I meant PCGS, geez. My head is buried somewhere deep in it. I just don’t see a toning pattern that is so out of the ordinary, so as to be questionable. It is a nice coin, no matter what. I have some Jefferson proofs, and mint set coins that are similarly toned. Enjoy it for what it is.
I think your coin in nice. I'm not an expert at grading coins, but with my meager knowledge, I think they missed the point. Oh well, what can you say to the man that has all power.
