    Here's one of the Large Cents I had graded.

    It's an 1836 N-4

    Nice looking coin...that's how they should look after all these years. Out of my expertise, but I venture EF.

    I think they only gave it a 30 because of the nicks and rusty die.

    I would venture to say XF details, that's where the reverse porosity comes into play.

    Reverse roughness would have me net grade the coin, and it would not surprise me if it were in a details holder.

    That said, I guessed a silent net grade of XF 40.

    I went with the XF Details both due to the reverse porosity and the color which to my eyes looked a little too even for a circulated coin. Not my specialty by any means, but its my guess.
