Extremely difficult to judge scuffs from a weak strike. Being that a dime made it into a quarter coining chamber. We can expect that it will be weakly struck leaving planchet defects. Unless there is obvious flattening of the devices these usually grade gem. I think I see a little bit of circulation I am going MS63
That's a great error coin, a quarter on a dime planchet. I said MS-64. The details will not be strong on it.
Very cool GTG!! I went MS-63. I don't see something like this circulating enough to get to an AU grade.
I'm a relative novice, but I don't think it needs a grade. It's a super cool error coin with plenty of detail in tact and that is the cool part of it. My grade would be "Cool!"
And it's MS 62 ...the grading on these is sometimes hard to nail down. I think 62 is a bit harsh and would agree with the 63 crowd.
I like my 64 better. There are just a lack of details and the coin is soft and mushy when this error happens.
I also think that 62 is a bit harsh. Maybe there is some slight hairlines that we are unable to see in the photos?
