Please guess the grade on one of my newest purchases.

Note: Please select two choices in the poll (1 of the 7 numerical grade options and 1 of the 3 "add-on" options.

I've included two photos of the same coin.

Yowza. Hard to say if fully PL from those images, but I’m guessing 64*. Awesome pickup

Note: you have to select both of your choices (both boxes) before pressing vote in order for the poll to work.

    MS 65 No additional designation.
By the way, it's a very nice looking coin. :)

A few minor obverse blemishes (it appears) but a really nice strike. I'll go MS-64 based on the neck, cheek and obverse field. Prolly too low.

Really nice coin, I like a well-preserved Barber.

I gave it MS65, no other designation. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a 64 on the slab. Very beautiful coin.

    I voted MS63*

The obverse looks like it isn't fully prooflike and the impairment on the neck is pretty severe and should drag the numerical grade down. The coin also looks to have been dipped and NGC often knocks off a grade on Barber Quarters for that.

Morgandude11 As long as it's Silver, I'm listening

I voted 65 *. It has extremely clean surfaces, nice luster, and gets the * for eye appeal.

I voted 65* I don’t think the marks are as bad in hand as they are in these blown up images.

I think it has a good chance at the star.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

It definitely has PL tendencies - from your pictures, I'd say the reverse is probably fully PL, but the obverse doesn't make it. This is a perfect candidate for a Star.

And, I guessed 64 based mostly on the severity of the marks on her neck and nose.

I guessed 65 on the grounds that marks always look so much worse in close-up photos than they do in-hand, and I guessed PL because I don't know what I'm doing. (Actually, let's apply that last reason to the 65 guess, too.)

65 PL from me, as well. I don't believe the "impairment on the neck" is anything but a break in the frost. IIRC, PL coins aren't required to be frosted, so, no big deal, right?

Correct, there is absolutely no requirement for frost on a PL coin. It is based solely on the depth of the mirrors in the fields. Now, the most attractive DMPL morgans exhibit lovely frost - but that is absolutely not required (in fact, I can show you several fully brilliant DMPLs from my collection).

I went 64PL. Nice to grade a Barber for a change.

These Pl coins have always been allowed to have much more chatter in the fields than a business strike coin.
What worries me a little is that the frost on the cheek wasn't struck enough.
    I gave it a 65PL.
