    Yes VERY high considering the tolerance for the silver ingots was less than +/- .002 or .2%

    That raises an interesting question. How much can you raise the surface fineness of a 90% silver coin by pickling it in acetic acid? I know for billon coins (50% silver or less) you can raise it significantly, but how much can you raise a 90% coin?

    The testing on this piece was documented as "The three tests were "XRF at low voltage (5 kV) which will yield a surface chemistry. XRF (20kV) which will perhaps tell us if there is any plating. And an SpG.".
