But there is more going on with that coin than that. If that were the case the entire coin would be the same color - it isn&#039;t. Contact marks, abrasions, scrapes, scratches - all of these things cause a change in the color where they happen. And that is what I am seeing. My opinion stands.</p><p><br /></p><p>As for my comments about experimenting with a file - unfortunately I cannot find one small enough and with the right type of cutting surface (raised points instead of flat cutting edges) in my tool boxes.
