You are correct - most are planchet marks (not flaws). However, my best information is that they count against grading but with a caveat. Nicks have an eye catching glare to them and planchet marks typically do not thus making them much less noticeable. All of these marks are relatively tiny (remember, they grade these without a loupe) and not distracting. Anyhow, great strike and nice luster. The darker streak is not so blatant in hand. BTW, the streak is no way near brown, but merely a darker amber. All that said, I am not sure about this one. NGC called it a 67. IMO, anyone heard of a 67-?

No surprize, I knew this one was a toss-up. The luster looks to be subdued by a very thin coating of verdigris on the obverse so I went 66.

I've conserved a few that looked just like this, VC removes that thin film in seconds. A rinse with water after conservation leaves no trace or the verdigris or the conservation.

Got to admit I thought it was a high 66 , but am a little suprised at the 67 , But I have to hand it to Irish , meidbe7 and mralaxanderb .

Penny's are one of my weakest spots. Thanks for the clarification.
