I would crack it out to be sure the grader is independent from the old opinion. But please send the old grading sheet back to PCGS.
I thought about it and decided to do a crossover, just to be on the safe side. I'll let you know the "new" grade in 1-2 months from now
... at least they seem to be faster with my coins than with @gbroke 's submission ;-) See https://www.cointalk.com/index.php?threads/NGC-results---my-first-submission.266893/
That was a good candidate for PCGS's reconsideration service. The reverse looks more XFish in the new picture than in the first, although I still would have said AU53 had I responded to the GTG. Of course, there's almost no price jump from XF45 to AU for this coin.
The new pick really shows the reverse differently . micbraun how's the reverse luster in hand . more like the 1st pic or this last pic ?
I agree with the XF-45, but wouldn't have argued much with AU-53 either. To me, there is a bit to much wear on the top of the hair line to go higher than 53.
Still a very pretty coin. Sadly I do think it would've sold for a little more in the older PCGS holder, but hey, like I said, that's a really nice coin. At least it isn't one of those coins where an AU is worth ten times more than an XF.
