Guess the grade: 1924 penny

    I don't get it that the same posters who get their panties in a wad when somebody calls a one cent piece a "penny" call 5 cent pieces "nickels" and dimes "roosies".

    So you think both the US mint and the dictionaries are wrong? I think teh mint has done a fine job of education most of us.

    Yes, I consider them both incorrect, but fully realize that the words are used synonymously.

    Does it really matter?

    Do you say "5 cent piece" or "nickel"? If you call it the latter then you're a hypocrite.

    Call it whatever you want, I could really care less, but cent is the correct term whether you want to admit it or not. The only reason I mentioned it at all was because of your comment about anal people calling it a cent. Gees don't get your panties all wadded up. CENT! CENT! CENT! CENT! CENT! CENT!
