Is there a reason that VG07 is an EAC grade? Do they use VG08? Do they represent the same exact grade with slightly different names?

I'm not that familiar with the EAC system, but I do know they use VG-08 as well. EAC essentially net-grades every coin based on surface quality, whereas ANA/TPG standards grade strictly on detail/wear and declares some coins ungradable if they're corroded, environmentally damaged, etc.

I still say the coin is no better than a nice G4. I think PCGS tends to be somewhat liberal with key Coins.

It looks like a very nice G06. There isn't enough detail on the head to merit a VG08.

  8. And obviously some of the members on this site agree with PCGS's liberal grading on keys.

I can't speak for everyone else, but when a thread's title says "Guess the grade" and the first post says that the coin is in PCGS plastic, I try to guess what PCGS has graded it, not what Brown and Dunn would have graded it.

Exactly. When asking for opinions, you likely don't care what my opinion is concerning what the grade should be based on my personal idealized standards. Rather, you would be interested in whether it would be recognized by NGC or PCGS at that grade (which is what is important from a marketing perspective).
