    MS-63 is my grade.

With the hints, I'll say AU-53 and just agree to disagree.

You don't really have anything to lose as a collector member.

    Most undergraded coin I've owned:

Here is another VF30 in coinfacts to compare:

Photograde VF-30. That's why I never try to grade gold coins.

That's the problem with this series for me. You could have told me it was MS65 or that it was G06, and I'd say "oh, okay" to either.

That's an NGC 3.0 holder from the 1986-1989 era, so there is a reason to think it was graded conservatively. I'm not an expert on gold, but I'd say you should definitely try for the sticker.

Where did they come up with that grade?

I'm stunned by that grade. And I'll come right out and say it, NGC blew it on this coin. They're just plain wrong.

That coin requires a resubmission - the grader was certainly in a bad mood.

I would rather have an old fatty holder with a gold sticker ;)

They should give that a few gold stickers. One for each grade it's under graded. That's one of the problems with the gold sticker. Something like this is so under graded, you have to ask by how much? They need like a Diamond or Platinum sticker for something like this.

What really surprises me, is that the person that submitted this originally did not instantly crack it out and throw the holder away. I bet it was the last time they ever sent anything to NGC again.

That coin is SOOO undergraded, I think I'd crack it out. A gold sticker won't fix much of anything, IMHO.

Lol. I bought it for the holder, and was just shocked to see how nice the coin was when it arrived (the pictures sucked). I would rather have the retro holder with a gold bean than the coin even in MS62.

So what do you think of it being in a VF30 holder? I was blown away. It should gold cac, right?
