Guess the grade: 1883-O Morgan

    It's an MS62. To my uneducated eyes, I feel like it should be a little higher, but what do I know. When I was shopping for it, I saw some 63s and 64s that weren't as nice as this one. It has mint luster over the entire coin. It's a lovely piece and was worth every penny.

    Thanks. I thought I did. Most of the 62s and 63s that I saw had big scratches on the left side of the obverse. This was by far the cleanest 62 I could find.

    I would have said 63 but didn't see the luster of a 63, which very well could have been the pictures. I didn't see wear as much as I did a weak strike. Nice coin congrats.

    My estimate was based on the weak strike and although photographic technique is a highly significant factor, I just didn't see it as 63. Thanks for giving me the chance to test myself.
